Rev. James "Jim" Fudge Obituary

It is with great love that the family of Rev. James Gordon Fudge announce his passing at Turnbull Nursing Home on February 4, 2021.  Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late William and Grace (Love) Fudge.  Jim worked with the Saint John Police Force as an officer for 32 years, retiring as a Divisional Inspector.  He was an active member of the Mission Point Church.  He lectured about drugs in schools and churches across New Brunswick for many years.  Jim was the Chaplain of the Saint John Police Force and the Chaplain at the Saint John Correctional Centre.  He enjoyed several trips to Texas as well as the Pacific Northwest, and was a lover of old westerns and crime movies.  Jim will forever be missed by his wife Joyce Fudge (Wallace); his sons:  Dr. Thomas Fudge (Trish) of Australia and David Fudge (Kathy) of Texas; his daughter Ruth Fudge of Saint John; his sister Eleanor Sowery of Quispamsis; his grandchildren:  Joel (Jennifer), Jakoub, James, and Katey; his great-grandchildren:  Hailey, Liam, Aubree, and Kalvin.  As well as his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brothers:  Donald Fudge and Russell Fudge and his sisters:  Jean Coates-Fennell and Ruth Fudge.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3 (506-646-2424).  Due to these uncertain times and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a private visitation will be held.  A private funeral service will be held on Monday February 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM in Mission Point Church, Saint John.  Interment will be held in Fernhill Cemetery.  The family wish to express the utmost gratitude to the staff at the Turnbull Nursing Home for the exceptional care they provided Jim during his stay.  Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
