It is with heavy hearts the family of Philip Peter Thompson, announces his passing which occurred on Monday, February 7, 2022 at his home, with his family at his side. Born in Saint John, NB on November 29, 1951, he was the son of the late Ray and Kaye (Currie) Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Susan (Keating) Thompson; brother Ray “Sonny”; father and mother – in-law Edward and Gertrude Jacques; brothers-in-law Mac Patterson and Edward Jacques; great niece Ashly Mosher.
Phil worked as a foreman for Strescon for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying gardening and landscaping. He loved fishing in his earlier years. Phil was a Ford Man but enjoyed all cars. He was a kind and generous man and would give a helping hand to any one without asking. Phil had a quick wit and a great sense of humour.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 31 years, Sue Jacques, son Scott Thompson; daughter Heather Scribner (Roy); brothers Paul Thompson, and Randy Thompson (Kelley); sisters Gayle Mosher and Lori Waller (Peter); cherished grandchildren Josh, Jamie, Brady, Matthew, Emma and Scott; sisters-in law Carole Thompson, Laura Patterson, Donna Jacques and Kim Jacques; brother-in-law John Jacques (Sharon); special great niece Brouke; several nieces, nephews and special friends Randy, Jack, Kathy and Brian.
In keeping with Phil's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family celebration will take place at a later date. Donations in memory Phil may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
