Our hearts are broken to announce the passing of Peter Andrew Rogers, who peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born on August 9, 1970, in Halifax, NS, he was the son of Anne Grayson and the late Carl Rogers.
Peter dedicated much of his career to the automotive industry, which surprised many as his initial dream was becoming a history teacher. Starting as a technician, he quickly achieved red seal status and spent the majority of his career at Autotec/Battery and Electric. His passion for the field led him to become the Service Manager at Nissan before moving to Downey Ford, where he was embraced as part of the family.
Peter was known for his faithfulness, loyalty, and reliability. His pride in his wife, children, and grandsons was evident in his unwavering support and presence at all their events. An avid football fan, he supported the Chicago Bears since 1982 and enjoyed coaching his son's football team, earning admiration from all who knew him.
He is survived by the one and only love of his life Sherry (Cormier); his children Brittany Wiebe (Noah), Matthew (Dominique); his beloved mother Anne Grayson and stepfather Brian; wonderful grandchildren Levi, Judah, Jackson, Luca, Ledger; siblings Christine Jacobsen (Neil), Allan Rogers (Janice Shepherd), Jill David (Steve); in laws Jocko (Paula) Cormier, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents Charles (Marion) Rogers, Marjorie Wilson and his uncle Jack Rogers.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, between the hours of 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Following this, a Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held in the Fundy Chapel.
