Peter Doiron Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Peter Theophile Doiron on February 27, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Saint John, NB, on July 27, 1967, to the late John and Alma (LeBlanc) Doiron.

Peter was a fun-loving, karaoke-singing, gymnastics-teaching, life-of-the-party man who loved to dance. There was never a dull moment when he was around. A jack of all trades, he would do odd jobs to help anyone in need. Peter was an intelligent man with a gift for creative writing. He loved everyone, but at the same time, you always knew where you stood with him. Peter was a people person and loved animals, especially his cats, Baby 1 and Baby 2. He was a gentle soul. Peter loved BINGO.  He was often seen weekly at Union Street Bingo with his family, Nelson, Sandra and Jody.  And when his parents were alive, they were there too.   They inherited their love for BINGO from their mother, Alma.  The Doirons are a staple at the Bingo hall. Peter spent many nights at The Max, either facilitating karaoke or serving behind the bar like a professional bartender. He will be loved and remembered for his spirit and kindness and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his best friend and roommate, Nelson Landry; his son, Jordan Middleton; Grandson, Tyson Eatmon; his brother, John Doiron; his sisters, Sandra Doiron, Tracy (Brent) Dugdale and Jody (Mike) Doiron; his niece, Liza (Mark) Muise; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, along with his beloved cat, Baby. We’d like to make a special recognition of his close cousin, Balinda Gibbon, who was by his side until the very end.  Peter was pre-deceased by his father John Doiron, his mother Alma Doiron (Leblanc) and his brother, Terry Richard Doiron.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) where visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 2pm from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, memorial donations made in Peter’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
