Paul "Chubby" McQuade Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce Paul "Chubby" Joseph McQuade has passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 17, 2023. He was the son of the late Harold and Rhona (Arsenault) McQuade.

Chubby was an avid motorcyclist who loved nothing more than going for drives on his bike. His love for motorcycles was surpassed only by his love for his fellow bikers, and he was widely known as a kind and generous friend who was always ready to lend a hand. In addition to his passion for biking, Chubby had a distinguished career with the Navy where he served as a cook. He was also worked with the Coast Guard.  His culinary skills were legendary, and he was known to whip up delicious meals for his loved ones on a regular basis.

Chubby was also known for his flirtatious nature, and his charming personality won the heart of his special companion Ramona, whom he'd always call "Baby". He had a way of making people feel at ease and always knew just what to say to make them smile. Chubby had a soft spot for animals too, particularly his beloved cat named Dog. Most of all, Chubby loved music and knew his way around a good set of drums. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.

Chubby is survived by his special companion Ramona "Baby" Gillette; his daughter Lisa Lavigne (Parker); grandchildren: MacKenzie Rayne and Griffin James; brother: Andrew McQuade (Susan); nephew: Donald McQuade; nieces: Linda McQuade and Katelyn McQuade; as well as several great-nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved kitty Dog. Besides his parents, Chubby was predeceased by his dog which he always talked about.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John, NB. A Funeral Liturgy will take place in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Chubby's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered as a loyal friend, a skilled cook, and a devoted biker who lived life to the fullest. Rest in peace, Chubby, and ride on forever.
