Paul Jacques Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Jacques, of Saint John, New Brunswick on January 26, 2022 at the age of 83. Paul was the son of the late Albert and Mary Jacques of Marmots, Ontario. He was the loving husband to Sheila for 61 years.

Paul loved his family and had a passion for trucks, tractors, planes and animals.

He was a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Airforce for 25 years, attaining the highest rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Paul was an Industrial Mechanic, Fourth Class Engineer, Welder, Draftsman and Teacher.

Paul taught Industrial Mechanics at NBCC SJ and became the department head for 20 years.

From 1984-2018 you could find Paul at the Atlantic Flight Center where he fulfilled his dream of flying his self-built airplane.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Sheila; son Tracy of British Columbia; daughters Shelly Damon (Mark), Lisa Garnett (Jeff); grandchildren Tanner, Skye, J. Damon, Jodi; brothers Peter (Lucy) of British Columbia, Fred (Bev) of Ontario, Bill (Sirpa) of Ontario; sister Emily Christian (Gary) of Alberta; sister-in-law Tina Jacques of Ontario; sisters and brothers in-law Marion and Clair Profitt, George and Doreen Mackay of Prince Edward Island and Uncle John Poirier.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Michael, sister Terry Muir, brother-in-law Stu Muir, sister Sheila Nihell, brother-in-law Glen Nihell and Aunt Josephine Poirier.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Luan Le and Dr. Chris O’Brien for their compassion and kindness. Thank you to the nurses on 5CN and palliative care at the Saint John Regional Hospital for your care and amazing grace.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). There will be no visitation, a private family funeral will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made to the Jervis Bay Legion Branch #53 (Wheelchair Committee), Saint John SPCA, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
