Patrick Kearney

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Kearney on September 15, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Kirkcudbright, Scotland, on December 8, 1936, to the late Francis and Ina (McGill) Kearney and was the loving husband of 62 years  to his wife, Arlene (Virtue) Kearney.

Patrick moved to Montreal in November of 1951 and took up working in the Newspaper Industry.  He moved to Saint John in 1976 and made his home here.  He was a very kind man who will be deeply missed. 

In addition to his wife, Arlene, he is survived by his daughters, Karen (Kevin Donaldson) Kearney, Kerry (Shawn Cyr) Kearney, Patricia (Jean-Guy Guenette) Kearney and Eileen Kearney; his 3 grandchildren, Theresa, Robert and Patrick; his sister, Joan (Brian) Caulfield. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  In keeping with Patrick’s wishes, cremation will take place, and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Special thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Keyes and Dr. Holly Campbell for their compassion and care. For those who wish, memorial donations in his memory to Bobby’s Hospice or to the West Side Food Bank would be appreciated by his family.
