Norman "Norm" Godin Obituary

Norman “Norm” Godin, 57, of Saint John, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, October 31, 2022 after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Norman and Marguerite (Benoit) Godin.

Norm worked for 31 years with Anglophone South School District, spending 24 years at Simonds High School as a custodian. He then worked on the Grounds Crew up until he got sick and retired in June 2022.

He had a zest for life, and would do absolutely anything for anyone. Norm in his years was on a few bowling leagues, softball teams, and was an attender to quite a few card nights. He had a love for motorcycles and owned a few over the years with his Harley being his favorite and his last. But most important to Norm was his family, he was first and foremost a mamma’s boy, his mother was his world, then he was a protective big brother to his 3 older sisters, then he was a devoted and loving husband, and finally came along his greatest joy which was being a dad to his girls and a pappy to his grandchildren.

Norm will be sadly missed by the love of his life, Sandra Godin (nee Love); his daughters, Shannon Jackson (Andrew), Katelyn Godin (Megan), Katrina McElhinney (Jordan), Brittany Clive (Jonathan) and Melissa Robertson (Ben); bonus children, Mitchell Losier (Shantia), Chelsea Hurley (Dylan) and Brittany Losier (Ian); grandchildren, Jonah, Gavin, Brynn, Isaiah, Faith, Eliana, Emily, Allie, Ashton, Cody, Mattea, Braden, Cash, Liam, Lilly, Lucy, Xander and Hudson; sisters, Dianne Warner (Brian), Joanne Savoie (Joe) and Sandra Godin (Bob); best friend, and brother from another mother, Mark Raynes (Brenda); as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Roger.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Michael and the Oncology Department for taking such great care of Norm.
