It is with great sadness that the family of Mary (Sproul) Nicol announces her passing which occurred at her residence on October 30th, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born in Saint John, NB, on September 20th, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Ron and Gladys Sproul. Beloved wife of the late Don Nicol for 65 years.
She is survived by her sons; Robert "Jake" and Peter (Rose), daughters; Pam Brayley-Healey and Sue McDonald (Ed), brothers; Roy (Brenda), Doug, John (Colleen), Murray (Carla), sisters; Marg, Betty, Jane and Janet, brothers-in-law; Rev. Carl (Anne), Jack (Linda) and Bruce Morrill, sisters-in-law; Marie, Valerie, Debbie and Roberta (Murray), grandchildren; Sara (Brian), Andrew, Amanda (Jeff), Josh (Kristy), Joey (Ashley), John (Jess) and Nicole (Andrew). Great-grandchildren; Sunny, Frankie, Addison, Lincoln, Gabriella, Wyatt, Archer, Harper and Avalyn along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her infant son Anthony, brothers; Francis, Fred, Albert, Lennie and Paul, sisters; Dorothy and Jean, brothers-in-law; Doug, Jack, Fill and sisters-in-law; Deena, Christine and Jean.
The family would like to thank Dr. Douglas and Lisa; the Extra-Mural nurses, Krista; for their outstanding care and kindness. They would also like to thank their neighbors, friends and family for all of their help, meals and love during this difficult time.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 from 2 - 4 pm & 6 - 8 pm followed by the cremation. The funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 10 am with the interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
