It is with love and gratitude for a life well lived that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, Marguerite A. Bland, at the remarkable age of 100. She passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at Bobby’s Hospice.
Born on July 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Laura M. (Gamble) Love. Mom leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Reginald (Jean), Christopher (Sadie), Cheryl (Phillip), and Judith Hawkes, as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson Brewer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Lewis Bland, siblings: Murray, Stuart (the late Dorine), and Marion (the late Earl).
Marguerite’s working life took her many places, but she was especially remembered for her 15 years with Sears. In retirement, she enjoyed the camaraderie of the Seniors Bowling League, where she played proudly on the “Recycled Teenagers” team, travelling to tournaments and making cherished memories along the way.
Above all, Marguerite’s heart belonged to her family. She loved scenic country drives, completing puzzles, and watching her favourite game shows. A daily joy was her phone call with her sister in-law Dot—a treasured ritual she never missed.
Visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), on Friday, August 15th, from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, August 16th, at 10 AM in the Fundy Chapel, followed by interment at Fernhill Cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Bobby’s Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
