With heartfelt sadness, the family of Marcia Marie Wilcox announces her peaceful passing on August 30, 2025, at Loch Lomond Villa. Born on October 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Adolphe and Virgine Johnson.
Marcia’s life was rooted in love—especially for her family. She was giving, thoughtful, and held traditions close to her heart. A natural at sensing when something was up, she had an uncanny way for reading her children long before a word was spoken. Her late husband affectionately nicknamed her "The D.A."—because, truly, nothing got past her.
She was known for her sense of style and grace. Marcia never left the house without being fully put together, always carrying her purse, which held everything but the kitchen sink—and never left her side.
Family was everything to Marcia. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and the feeling was mutual. She loved to cook, with her famous fried dough being a staple at family gatherings. Her garden brought her joy, and she was always up for a trip to the casino. Some of her fondest memories were spent traveling with her beloved husband Gerald to Fundy National Park, staying in a cabin by the golf course and indulging in Alma’s famous lobster. She also loved country music; she was Alan Jackson’s number one fan. When it came to vacations, Myrtle Beach was her favourite getaway, a place she cherished visiting.
Christmas held a special place in Marcia’s heart. "The Big Feast" on Christmas Eve became a treasured family tradition, complete with a grand dinner, gift exchanges, and the annual hunt for the hidden bird ornament in the Christmas tree—though she was also known for misplacing at least one present each year, which became a charming tradition of its own.
Marcia will be dearly missed by her children: Susan Campbell (Malcom), Cathy Arseneault (Gisele), Shelly Spencer (Jeffrey), and Terry Wilcox (Tammy); her 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought endless joy to her life.
She is also survived by her brothers Urbain Johnson (Eileen), Rosaire Johnson, Omer Johnson (Jackie); sisters Rita Cyr, Claudine Robichaud (Néri), Azele Saunders (James), Marielle Johnson, Aline Richard, Camella Ricketts (Peter), Corinne Clement (Keith), and Robea Johnson; as well as brothers-in-law Roger Wilcox (Anne), Lloyd Wilcox (Carol), Rolland Charter; sisters-in-law Corinne Johnson and Leona Wilcox; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Marcia was predeceased by her loving husband Gerald Wilcox; her parents; her brother Roger Johnson; sister Rose Johnson; parents-in-law Cecil and Ona Wilcox; brothers-in-law Hermel, Jean-Paul, Patrick, Ernest Wilcox (Myrna), Vincent Wilcox; and sisters-in-law Mary Thorne (John) and Rose Mitchell.
