Lloyd Sterling Bridges
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd Sterling Bridges which occured at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Born in Saint John, NB on February 27, 1963, he is the son of Barbara (Israel) and the late Sterling Bridges.
Lloyd was the proud co-owner and operator of CJ Metals for many years, where he was known by some as the "Catalytic Converter King".  After selling CJ Metals, he started a new journey and purchased the Grove Lounge where he and his wife Brenda enjoyed operating the business together. He was a loving, loyal and giving person to a lot of people. Lloyd was very much involved in his community. In his down time he could be found cheering on his beloved Montreal Canadiens and in the summer his Toronto Blue Jays.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Brenda (Garnett) Bridges, his mother Barbara (Israel), his two sons Glenn Garnett of Saint John NB, Andrew Garnett (Lisa) of Saint John NB, and his God Daughter Kendra Garnett (Princess) who he always treated as a daughter and his sister Sandy Bridges. Lloyd is also survived by his brother in laws Lloyd (Kim) Garnett, Jim Garnett, Brian Freeze and sister in laws Judy Garnett, and Faye (Patrick) Garnett. Lloyd will also be missed by Vic Ryan who was like a brother in law to him. He also adored his four grand children Hunter, Asil, Lyla, and McKinnon. Lloyd came from a very large family with many, half brothers, and half sisters. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his half brother Jamie, his nephew Joshua Bridges, sister in law Sharon Smith (Frank), sister in law Jean Ferris (Arnold), and brother in law Harry Garnett. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), where a Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, please join us at the Grove Lounge, 533 Westmorland Road, where we will continue celebrating Lloyd's life. Donations can be made to the charity of the donor's chioice.
