Linda Dianne Black

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Dianne Black, wife of the late Ian Black, which occurred on April 15, 2025, after a period of declining health, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 9, 1948, in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Gaines) Grant. Linda was a Homemaker with the Canadian Red Cross. She was Eastern Star Past Matron, Past Grand Representative of Mississippi, Grand Noble of Rebekah, the Orange Lodge, a volunteer for Cerebral Palsy, a cook for Meals on Wheels, and a member of Main Street Baptist Church - River Cross Church. She is survived by her daughter Dorothea Poitras (Brideau), brother, William Folton, and sisters, Ruth Whilpley (Doug) and Eldina Dumphy (Ed), and with her cousins, nieces and nephews, and her dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister Bonita Grant. Following cremation, the visitation will take place at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), from 2-4 and 6-8PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM from the Fundy Chapel on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, followed by interment at Ocean View Memoria Gardens. Remembrances made to Spina Bifida Research, or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
