Lewellyn "Lew" Melville Adshade

It is with great sorrow the family of Llewellyn "Lew" Mellville Adshade announce his sudden passing on Thursday, February 27, 2025.  He was the beloved husband of Nancy Adshade for over 47 years and the much loved father of Stacie (Jamie) Yates.  Lew's loss will be deeply felt by his grandchildren Mya (Noah) and Ayden. He will be remembered by his sister Carolyn (Tom) Smith and his best friend Ronnie Langille.  Lew is predeceased by his parents Vera and Llewellyn Adshade.  He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends. 

Lew was a proud member of the Shriners and was a Freemason of Carleton Union lodge #8, he worked for CN Rail for over 35 years working many different roles where he made many wonderful friends. Later, after retirement he worked as a Property Manager for Dexter Construction. 

Lew was an Elvis Presley fan and could be heard singing his songs. Lew had a dry sense of humor like no other and that trait has been passed on to his daughter. Lew was a jack of all trades, if he wasn't piling wood or tending to his garden he was creating a thick cloud of black smoke for his neighbors with his beloved burning barrel. Lew was a gentle man who loved his family and was so proud of them. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424).  In keeping with Lew's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family services will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, Heart and Stroke foundation or doners choice.
