Laurie Mae (Hudson) Morrell

Our hearts are so heavy.  You fought one heck of a battle to cancer, our beautiful princess, Laurie Mae Morrell.  We hope you are at peace and dancing in heaven with your father, brothers and sister.  She passed away on December 22, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Laurie was born in Saint John on March, 17, 1977 to her parents, Ruth (McKeller) and the late David Hudson, and was the loving fiancé to Mike Cormier. 

We’re sending all our love, prayers and strength to your two beautiful daughters and your mom.  Our heart breaks for you the most Ruth.  No one should ever have to endure the kind of heartbreak you have.  Also sending all of our love to all of the family during this very sad time.  Rest in peace, our beautiful Munchkin. 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Hayley and Ashley Morrell; nephew Alex Hudson and great niece, Makayla; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. 

Along with her father, David, she was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur and William “Billy” Hudson; sister, Donna; as well as her grandparents, David and Olive (Hamilton) McKellar.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  In keeping with Laurie’s wishes, no visitation will take place.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 1pm with interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, seating is limited at the funeral service.  Anyone wishing to attend is asked to contact 646-2424 to RSVP.  Proof of vaccination and a piece of government issued identification is required as well.  For those who wish, donations in her memory to Romero House would be appreciated by her family.
