Joyce Ann Sisk

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Joyce Ann (McPhail) Sisk, which occurred on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on September 7th, 1949, in Cornwall, ON., she is the daughter of the late Leonard and Edna (Padberry) McPhail.  Joyce was a proud Nurse for 35 years, working at both St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital, before retiring in 2014.  She was an avid reader and she enjoyed watching Hallmark Christmas movies.  Her family was most important to her.  She adored her children and her grandchildren.  They were her pride and joy.  Joyce was a selfless and compassionate person who put the needs of others before her own.  She valued her relationships with her family and her co-workers.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Joyce is survived by her loving and devoted husband David of 53 years; daughter Jennifer Curwen (Craig) of Saint John; son David Sisk (Michelle) of Bloomfield; brothers Brian McPhail and Donald McPhail; sisters Sharron McPhail and Fay Raudoy all of Cornwall, ON.; grandchildren Connor (Teresa Hastings) and Hailey; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister-in-law Sharon and her brother-in-law Nels.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Saturday, December 28th from 11 to 1 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel at 1 p.m.  Donations in memory of Joyce may be made to the SJRH-Palliative Care Unit or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
