John W. Jarvis

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of John Wayne Jarvis which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 8th, 2023.  Born on August 22nd, 1952, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Jack and Myrtle Jarvis.  John worked for Irving Oil for 34 years before retiring in 2020.  He enjoyed gardening, watching sports and he especially loved spending time at the lake with family and friends.  John will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

John is survived by his loving and devoted wife Shirley (Clarke) of 51 years; sons Tyson Jarvis (Melinda) of Saint John, Troy Jarvis (Natasha) of Saint John; sister Sherry Ramsay (Robert) of Quispamsis; brothers Theodore Jarvis (Geraldine) of Saint John, Michael Jarvis (Debbie) of Hampton; aunts Jeannie Jarvis and Marie Walls (Clair); nieces and nephews Amy, Jessica, Shawna, Sherry and Michael; canine companions Molly and Ayse; as well as many friends.  John leaves behind his two precious granddaughters Hanna and Mielle. He is now their guardian angel.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, June 13th from 2 to 5 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Wednesday, June 14th at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of John may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
