John Bone Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of John D. Bone announces his passing and the start of his next journey, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 20th, 2020. John was born in Hanwell, Great Britain on July 5th, 1937; a son of the late John and Gladys (nee Amner) Bone, and the loving husband of R. Ann Bone. In addition to his wife Ann, John is survived by his sons Andrew (Dawn) Bone and Michael (Judy) Bone, daughter Catherine (Paul) Albert, grandchildren Joshua, Alison, Anthony, and Sarah. Along with his parents, John was predeceased by a sister, Janet Bone. He arrived in Canada from Great Britain in 1970 with his young family and settled in Quispamsis.  Several years later, they made their home on the Kingston Peninsula before eventually moving to West Saint John where he retired. John was an accomplished artist and used these skills as an Art Teacher and Curator of Art at the New Brunswick Museum. He was a proud member of the Air Force Association of Canada, 250 Royal Canadian Air Force (Saint John) Wing, owing to his time in the RAF, during national service. He was a kind and gentle soul who was delighted by the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family would like to thank the compassionate nurses, doctors and support staff that provided excellent care under such unprecedented circumstances. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home. Due to these circumstances, John’s celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honour to your local charity. Please help those less fortunate in these challenging times.
