John Arthur Brown

Surrounded by family and friends, John A. Brown passed at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on December 19, 2023, at the age of 75.  He was born on November 13, 1948, the son of Everett and Mildred Brown of St. Martins.

John was a welder for many years at Saint John Shipbuilding. He was a volunteer fireman in St. Martins. He played baseball and hockey. He was a member of St. Martins Baptist Church, a trustee for many years and took great pride in his custodian duties.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda (Hoey) Brown, his children; Janice Parsons (Tom) and son Travis, five grandchildren; Ricky, Robyn (Phil), Alicia (Steve), Dylan and Hunter, 3 great-grandchildren; Kaiden, River, and Brielle, and was excited to hear of a new arrival in March. Also his sister Phyllis, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He will be missed by his fur babies Bella and Bently. 

He was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws, his brother-in-law, and his loving son Garth.

The family wants to thank Dr. Luan Le, Dr. Chris O'Brien and the wonderful staff at 3BN.

Arrangements are under the care Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506) 646-2424. Visitation will take place at St. Martins Baptist Church, on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The Celebration of Life will be at 1:30pm followed by interment in the St. Martins Community Cemetery. A reception to follow.  For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Palliative Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital or to the SOS Program in St. Martins.
