Jessica Alexandra Anderson

It’s with great sadness that we announce the death of Jessica Alexandra Anderson on Sunday, May 12th at the QE 2 hospital in Halifax, following injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident that also claimed the life of her dear cousin, Kayla Anderson.

Jessica was the daughter of Melissa Anderson and Bobby Nickerson, and a beloved sister and role model to her younger sister Kaitlyn. Her feline friend “Kitty”, will also miss her cuddles and snuggles.

Jessica graduated from Harbourview High School, class of 2015 and it’s here where she met a group of great girls dubbed “The Crew”, and one fabulous guy Sean Downing, that stole her heart forever. She most recently was enrolled in the Dental Hygienist program at Oulton College in Moncton and was so excited to enter the workforce.

Jessica had a zest for life and loved to travel whether it be a trip to Europe, Florida, the annual Downing Family Cruise, or just a weekend getaway to visit Sean in Toronto.

She is survived by her grandparents, Linda Waycott (McGovern) and James Anderson; aunts Jennifer Wilson (Ricky); Heather Anderson (Joel); Denene Nickerson (Blair); uncles Blantford Nickerson, Terry Nickerson and Kevin Nickerson (Colleen) as well as several cousins and many friends. She will also be deeply missed by The Thornton family who considered her to be one of their own. Also mourning her loss is Todd and Andrea Downing who have been the most amazing in-laws to Jessica over the past six years.

She was predeceased by her cousin Kayla Anderson and step-grandfather Myles Waycott.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, visitation will take place on Friday, May 17th from 2-8pm.  A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, May 18th at 11am at Holy Spirit Parish (St. Matthew’s Worship Site) Dollard Drive, Grand Bay-Westfield, NB. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Jessica made to the Animal Rescue SPCA would be appreciated.
