James Richard Obituary

With heavy hearts, but extreme gratitude for a life well lived, the family of James Alexander Richard, husband of Shinta Johanna Richard, announces his sudden passing which occurred on March 4, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his wife and children at his side. Born in Toronto, Ontario on May 25, 1964, he is the son of Alexander Joseph Richard and Cheryl Rose (O’Dell) Richard. He is survived by his oldest daughter, Jizel Kezia Michellien Richard (20), youngest daughter Joline Priscilla Rose Richard (10), son Quinton James Pryce (26), and wife Shinta Johanna Richard, and brother Mark Garfield Richard, his wife Shelley, and his daughters Sadie Richard and Julia Richard.

Jamie built his business, A Lot of Auto Recyclers, from the ground up and dedicated his life to his family. His work was demanding and time consuming, but he always made time to watch and support his children’s accomplishments. James had a habit of waking up before dawn and getting in his early morning coffee runs. Always quick to crack a joke, Jamie enjoyed going on Sunday drives with his family (but especially Joline, who was usually the only one able to wake up that early).

He was a long-time member of Kings Church in Quispamsis, and a leader in the Celebrate Recovery program at Kings. In the later part of his life, he grew stronger in his faith. A family man with a huge heart, he will forever be loved and missed by his family and all those his life influenced. Jamie’s last song request was You Are My Sunshine, which he said reminded him of his wife during his three months in the hospital.

James’ visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John. The doors are open to all those who wish to remember him.
