Jack Frederick Burnham

The family of Jack F. Burnham are devastated to share his passing that occurred August 23, 2025 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born July 21,1943 to Ross and Marion (Estey) in Florenceville, NB, Jack spent his youth helping with the family farms. He later went on to study agriculture at MacDonald College of McGill University where he met his future wife, Jennifer (Smalley).

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Jack is survived by daughter Johanna (Eric Martin) and son Jason. He was thoroughly proud of his grandchildren, Jeremy Martin, Colby Burnham, and Bria Burnham and enjoyed keeping up with their active lives. Jack also leaves behind one brother Raymond (Jeanne), his sister Carolyn (Lorie Demmings), many caring nieces and nephews and their children that have remained close despite the distances. He encouraged all of us in our endeavours with his simple ‘Go for it!’. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Richard (Charlotte) and Peter; and niece Jane Demmings.

Between his easy social nature, his work as a district agriculturist in the area he grew up, his various hobbies (downhill skiing, hiking, gardening and later in life - spin class) Jack wound up knowing someone everywhere he went. Jack was also well known for helping his friends and neighbours whether it was snow removal, mowing, sharing his garden surplus, or lending his many talents and tools.

Fundy Funeral Home of Saint John (506-646-2424) have been entrusted with private arrangements and by his request, there will be no visitation or service. Memorial donations can be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation- NB Heart Centre,  Nature Trust of New Brunswick, or Arthritis Society of Canada.
