It is with broken hearts that the family of John “Wendell” Ford announces his passing on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Prince Edward Island on October 6, 1944, he was a son of the late Beecher and Wilma (nee. Smith) Ford.
Wendell is survived by his daughter Pam Peacock; grandchildren: Wendy Ford, Will Peacock, Devon Ford, and Melissa Robinson; great-grandchildren: Ashley, John, Martha Grace, William, and Nathanal; siblings: Isabel Gallant, Evelyn Gallant, Georgie Ford, and Wilma Ferrier; daughter-in-law Mae Ford; sister-in-law Dianne Jeffries; brother-in-law Mike (Karen) Jeffries; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Sandra Ford (nee. Jeffries); infant son Raymond Christopher Ford; son John Ford; son-in-law Bill Peacock; brothers Raymond and Spurgeon Ford; sisters Wanda Gosh and Hazel Pavilinic; father and mother-in-law Russell and Millicent Jeffries; sisters-in-law Cindy Jefferies, Willa Jeffries, and Nellie Black.
The family would like to thank Wendell’s good friends Anne for the long drives and meals out, and Doug for the visits with a Tim’s coffee and a hidden donut, road trips and meals. Wendell’s nephew Wayne, we can’t thank you enough for the phone calls, visits and the treats from PEI.
To the staff at the Loch Lomond Villa Special Care Home, thank you for looking after dad/Grampy Ford. To the ladies in the Villa Outreach Program, thank you for making Wendell’s Wednesdays that much brighter.

Visitation for Wendell will be on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel with interment directly following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Wendell’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes, or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
