Inga Dykeman

Inga Dykeman Obituary

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Inga (Jensen) Dykeman which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, February 29th, 2020.  Born 1927, in Denmark, she was the daughter of the late Hans Christian and Lauretta (Pederson) Jensen.  Inga graduated from Saint John Nursing School in 1950 and worked as a nurse for several years before starting a family.  She was an active member of the UCW and a Bridge Club Member for over 50 years.  Inga enjoyed playing bingo and knitting.  Inga loved a lot, and she was loved a lot.  Her home was always full of love.  She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Inga is survived by her children Christian Dykeman of Saint John, Kimberly Richardson (Kevin) of Quispamsis, Andrew Dykeman (Kimberly) of Saint John; sister Greta Davies (Rhys) of Delta, BC; grandchildren Jonathan (Angie), Brittainy (Christian), Alexander, Nicholas, Abigail; great granddaughter Grace; nephew Todd Davies (Lexi) of Vancouver, BC; son-in-law Aubrey Gaudet of Rothesay; as well as 2 great nephews, 1 great niece, many friends and neighbors.  Besides her parents, Inga was predeceased by her husband Gilbert and daughter Karen.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday, March 4th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, March 5th at 11 a.m. followed by an interment at Fernhill Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Inga may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
