Ida Stella (Durley) Mosher

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ida Stella (Durley) Mosher on May 20, 2025, at home, surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Saint John, NB, on November 7, 1944, to the late James and Myrtle (MacKenzie) Durley and was the loving wife to her late husband, Ernest Mosher. 

Ida attended East Saint John School until grade 8 when she joined the work force.  She was a natural caregiver and started working at the TB Hospital, moved to the General Hospital and retired in 2000 from the Regional Hospital.  During this time, she also met her husband and raised her family.  Ida was a firecracker of a woman who loved music, loved to dance, loved to play darts and just generally loved her life.  She was outspoken but loving, hardworking, loved to travel and be with her family.  Her grandchildren were the lights of her life.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her son, Ernest Slattery; her daughters, Kimberley (Iraj) Malaknejadorangi and Patricia Slattery; her adored grandchildren, Adam, Amanda, Alyssa, Jessica, Travis and Brody; her great grandchildren, Lataya, Hailey, Ariana, Ella, Evyn, Emmett, Terri and Abigail; her great great grandson, Winston; as well as her sister, Theresa Durley and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Kevin; her great granddaughter, Arielle; her brothers, Gerald, Harold, Robert, Donald and David; and her sisters, Elizabeth, Patricia, and Marie. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) where visitation will take place on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8pm.  A funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11 am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  For those who wish, memorial donations in Ida’s memory to the Diabetic Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
