With profound sadness, the family of Gerald (Gerry) Albert Griffin announces his passing on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 16, 1946, Gerry was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Chittick) Griffin.
Gerry worked as a power engineer with Labatt’s and later, the Province of New Brunswick as a Boiler Inspector. In his earlier years, he found joy in the great outdoors, especially through hunting and fishing. Known for his spirited personality, Gerry lived a full and memorable life.
He will be deeply missed by his son Michael (Laurie) Griffin, his daughter Jennifer Perreault, and his beloved grandchildren: Allison, Katherine, Matthew, Jacob, and Lynne. Gerald is also remembered fondly by his stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Maureen (Marks) Griffin.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chateau Champlain, Kindred Home Care and the nursing staff of 3DS for their kindness and care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In accordance with Gerry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or formal service at this time. A private graveside interment will be held at a later date.
For those who wish, donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
