It is with broken hearts and great sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Gabe James Goguen, which occurred on Monday, August 25, 2025. Born on May 6th, 2001, in Saint John, NB, he is the son of Greg Goguen (Sheila) and Kerry Moreau. Gabe graduated from St. Malachy’s Memorial High School in 2019.
Gabe was the life of the party, always with a huge smile that lit up a room and a lighter at hand to light up your cigarette. Not only was he an amazing car DJ, the King of Karaoke (Abracadabra being one of his faves), and a lover of all music but man, those dance moves!
Gabe loved with all of his heart. He loved to ski… fast. He loved all animals, a good smoke, a nice cold beer, a great pair of sneakers, re-finishing old furniture, grabbing his mom for a ‘walk around the hood’, watching a good show (Chicago PD and True Crime to name a few), spending time with his family, especially his brothers, and making memories at his happy place, the camp in Boiestown. Being the old soul he was, we can’t forget his long time crush on Betty White!
Gabe had the gift of making a joke to lighten the mood and had a huge heart, loving unconditionally, always making you feel loved and welcome. Gabe believed the more the merrier.
Along with his parents, Gabe is survived by his brothers Drew, Jared and Heath; paternal grandmother Shirley Goguen; maternal grandparents Mike and Liz Moreau “Nanny & Bop”; step-dad Joe Hunter (Heather); as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Gabe was predeceased by his Bubby.
We’d love for you to stop in and celebrate his life with us, raise a glass, and sing a karaoke tune in his honour on Friday, September 5th from 7p.m. to midnight (we all know Gabe would think midnight was lame) at Barrack Green Armouries, 60 Broadview Avenue, Saint John.
Rest in Peace, our Gabey Baby. We love you.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, August 29th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A private family burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Gabe may be made to the Community Autism Center or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
