It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Erik Nathaniel Wilson on November 13, 2024, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. He was born in Saint John, on August 28, 1995, to his parents, Kevin and the late Dianne (Richard) Wilson.
Erik graduated from Saint John High School and then went to UNB Fredericton where he studied Computer Engineering before switching to Accounting. He worked for Rogers Wireless in the IT Department until his passing. Erik was a quiet and soft-spoken individual who didn’t say much, but when he did venture an opinion or speak up, everyone listened because they knew an important point was going to be made and it would be meaningful. He was reserved but had an adventurous spirit that came out when he was travelling. Erik was a very smart young man and was well versed in many different subjects, perhaps to the detriment of anyone debating with him, and he seemed to know the answer to everything you asked him. Erik’s ability to remain unflustered in tough situations led him to being the go-to problem solver for family and friends alike and he was the guy you went to if you needed anything fixed. He was a wonderful Son, Brother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, Kevin, he is survived by his sister, Melanie (Peter), Uncles Bonar Wilson (Carol) and Robert Richard (Paulette), his Aunt Kathy, Grandmother Clara Richard, Godparents Craig and Penelope Palmer, and cousins Mylène and Marco Richard, Jeremy Wilson, Shelly Peck, Julia Palmer, and numerous friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his Mother, Dianne, and his Grandfather, Zoël Richard.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 20 at 11am. A private family interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations in his memory to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
