Ellen Theresa Hooley

It is with heavy hearts the children of Ellen T. Hooley, widow of the late Joseph W. Hooley, announce her passing which occurred on Friday September 25, 2020 at Turnbull Nursing Home.  Born in Saint John, November of 1934, she was the youngest child of Francis and Selina (Alfred) Walsh. She will be sadly missed by her children Andrea Gilmore (Barry), Margaret Ellis (Randy), John Hooley (Melanie) and Janice Smith (Robert); 10 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sisters-in-law Rita Hooley and Elsie Hooley; many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents and her husband Joseph; Ellen was predeceased by her son Joseph Raymond; grandson Ryan Ellis; friend Fred Davis and brothers Buster, Joe, Frankie, Bernie and Gerry; sisters Lillian, Beatrice, Gertrude and Margaret; in-laws Gertrude Phinney (Dempse), Doreen Ferris (Michael), Rose Forestell (David)  and Frank Hooley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27 th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose Catholic Church, Milford Road on Monday, September 28th for family and close friends. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Due to public health guidelines masks are highly recommended at the funeral home and mandatory for church. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.  Donations in Ellen’s memory can be made to Alzheimer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
