It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donna Prudence (Wood) Wiggins announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 6, 2024, wife of the late Harold Wiggins. She was born in Coles Island, New Brunswick on July 20th, 1932, to the late Verne and Violet (Northrup) Wood.
She was predeceased by her siblings Eileen Fowler, Rosalee McGarity, Verne Wood and Frank Wood. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Donna was a very quiet woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life especially a good cup of tea. She taught school for a year then went to business school and became a secretary at G.E. Barbour’s. She was also a member at the Naval Reserves. She like to cook, just not bake. She travelled occasionally and liked playing games on her iPad, knitting and watching TV. But above all, she loved her children, grandchildren and extended family.
She is survived by her son Troy (Julie) Wiggins of South Mountain, Ontario; daughter Pamela Rushton (Kevin) of Hong Kong and Penny Sleep (Kevin) of Nauwigewauk, New Brunswick, grandchildren Corey Sleep, Lauren Sleep and Zackary Rushton along with her sister in-law Kay Wood and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506)-646-2424. In keeping with Donna’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
For those who wish, memorial donations in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
