David William Smith

It is with broken hearts the family of David William Smith of Ontario announce his passing which occurred at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Ontario on Thursday May 27th, 2021. Born in St. Stephen, NB on June 17th, 1951 he was son of the late David Louis and Nellie Marie (Dunphy) Smith. Dave had a passion for cooking and gardening and spending time with those he loved. In his earlier years he worked for Urquart & Hughes print company. 

Dave is survived by his best friend Florence Smith of Ontario; only daughter Leanne (Ray) of Ontario; 2 grandchildren Brad & Jamie Lee; 4 great-grandchildren Juliette, Violet, Samuel & Izabel; only sister Mary Lou Sherwood (Ron) of Hampton; nephews Scott McCarthy (Shannon) and Sean McCarthy (Judy) great nieces & nephews Logan, Ava, Sean Michael, Daniel and Marley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) Graveside service will be held on Saturday July 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Ocean View Memorial Gardens, 715 Latimore Lake Road, Saint John. Friends are asked to arrive at Ocean View for 10:50 a.m. Dave will be laid to rest with his Mom and Dad. Donations in his memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
