It is with great sadness that the family of David Ronald Keirstead, loving husband of Wendy (MacMillan) Keirstead, wish to announce his passing that occurred on August 1, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Moncton, September 19, 1952, he was the son of the late Ronald and Evelyn (Doucette) Keirstead.
David was a member of the Moncton High School Class ’73 and then graduated from the New Brunswick Institute of Technology ‘Civil Engineering’ Class ’75. He began his career as a survey technician then became a distinguished salesman, winning many sales awards selling survey equipment and computer service contracts.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and golfing. He was a jack-of-all-trades who loved to tinker and took great pride in his home, always working on improvement and upkeep projects. David always put his family first and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Over the years, he combined his love of family with his love to create and spent much of his free time building and creating playhouses, swing sets, zip lines, skating rinks, basketball courts, and numerous other creations for his children and grandchildren to enjoy. When he was well, he also experienced great joy attending his grandchildren’s sports games, concerts, plays, and other special events.
Besides his beloved wife Wendy, he is survived by his children; Jason (Rebecca) and Julie Pugsley (Matthew), his grandchildren; Kai, Brynn, Addie, and Ava, his siblings; Brenda Linfield (Jim), Howard (Susan), Greg (Janice), Debbie Vidito, Jeff (Marlene), and Tracy Sherwood, along with many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ronald and Evelyn (Doucette) Keirstead, he was predeceased by his sister Peggy Phillips (Jack) and brother-in-law Russell Sherwood.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and all other staff of 5C South for their care of the last 4 months.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506) 646-2424, with visitation on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 12:00 Noon – 2:00pm, at which time the service will take place at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.
