Darrell Edward Richards

It is with broken hearts the family of Darrell Edward Richards, loving and devoted spouse to Bessie Collins, announces his sudden passing on Friday, July 1, 2022. Born in Saint John, NB he is the son of Joyce (Jones) Richards and the late Percy “Turk” Richards.

Darrell worked as a contractor/carpenter for Local Union 1386. He was the Union Rep for Local and International Union. He was very well known for being very sociable, kind and always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. Darrell was a base player in the band Ryan Drive. He was a member of the Masons and on the committee for Balls Lake. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting, especially Moose season, he enjoyed ATVing, runs with the boys on his Harley, watching and playing Hockey and Tennis.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother Joyce and spouse Bessie of 42 years, he is survived by his children, Kirk Collins (Krista), Danny Collins (Kelsey) and Darrell Jr. Collins (Jen); cherished grandchildren Rayne, Summer, Sky, River, Dakota “Bubby”, Stephen (Jen), Curtis and Melissa (Dustin), five great grandchildren; brothers Percy “Junior” (Sheila), David (Cathy), Wayne (Rose), Time (Valerie), Richard (Darleen) and Keith (Tanya); sisters Marietta Richards, Monica Roy (Peter), Vanessa Richards-Stone (Daniel) and Tracey Richards; special nephew Jordan Stone “Spanky” as well as several other nieces and nephews; his canine companions Bandit and Lady Bug.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, donations in memory of Darrell may be made to the SPCA Animal Rescue or to the charity of the  donor’s choice.
