Carol passed away on August 11, 2025, after living many courageous years with Multiple Sclerosis, a disease she never let get the best of her. She faced it with humour, grit, and plenty of sass.
She loved duck hunting and fishing, and being outdoors was where she felt most at home. At the end of the day, she enjoyed kicking back with a good comedy movie—laughing was always her favorite pastime.
Friends were extremely important to her and she was surrounded by so many who loved her. She also enjoyed her visits from her caretaker Judy. Carol was funny, straightforward, and had a wit that could catch anyone off guard. Even while dealing with MS, she kept her sense of humour and made sure those around her could laugh right along with her.
She’ll be remembered as someone who didn’t sugarcoat things, who loved the simple joys of life, and who showed us how to keep smiling no matter what came her way.
Carol will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Makenzie Oram; the father of her child Justin Oram; sister Angela Cornfield; best friend Becky Pitre; as well as so many more friends. She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Linda (Patterson) Cornfield and her infant sister Jessica.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB. A service may be planned at a later date. In the meantime, if you would like to honour Carol’s memory, simply take a moment to do something kind for someone in your community and share a little joy, just as she so often did. Donations in her memory may be made to the MS Society or to a charity of your choice.
