Brent Almon Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Brent Gordon Almon announces his unexpected passing on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 28, 1972, Brent was the beloved son of the late Gordon and Blanche (Mannett) Almon.

Known affectionately as “Sacky” or “Roots” to those close to him, Brent had a deep love for the outdoors. His passion led him to work with the Fundy Trail, and he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Brent cherished time spent with his Uncle Benny and was known for his playful spirit—particularly when it came to teasing his many nieces and nephews.

He was known for his brutal honesty and referring to himself as Casanova. He loved to flirt with any woman he met. A true creature of habit, Brent had a weekly tradition of driving into town for his favorite Vito’s Pizza. He also appreciated the quieter moments of life, often found relaxing at home or walking in the woods.

Brent will be deeply missed by his brother “Oggie” Tim (Trudy) Almon; his sisters Darlene Almon, Tammy Almon, Laura (George) Ferguson, and Rhonda (Steve) Foster. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Amelia (Nick Yorke) Almon, Jacob Almon, Robyn Duke, Erin Duke, Hannah Duke, Georgie (Jamie) Ferguson, Alichia (Corey) Ferguson, Joel Foster, and Natalie (Paul) Cormier; aunts and uncles: Benny (Mary Jane) Mannett, Hughie Almon, Elsie (Eldene) Mannett, Carol (Chesley) Benjamin, Brenda (Rocky) French, Edna (Robert) French, Jeanie Buchannan and Marilyn Rogers as well as many cousins. Besides his parents and grandparents, Brent was predeceased by his brother Terry Almon, his uncle Ducky and aunts Pat, Rita, Ruthie and Mona.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the St. Martins Fire Department and paramedics for their care and compassion. They went above and beyond in their duties, and we sincerely appreciate their services.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Visitation will take place on August 15 from 11-2, followed by a funeral service at 2pm at St. Martins Baptist Church. Reception to follow downstairs at the church following the burial.

For those who wish, donations in Brent’s memory can be made to Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue or Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at the Saint John Regional Hospital
