Barbara Lynn Steele Huggard

The family of the late Barbara Lynn Steele Huggard, loving wife of the late Jimmy Huggard, wish to announce she passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her five girls on June 21, 2022. Born December 17, 1957, in Toronto, ON, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Ruth (Wood) Shepherd.

She is survived by her daughters; Tammy (Mike), Tracey (Dan), Kim (Vanessa), Krista (Ryan), the son she never had, Christopher (Kristy), Lisa (Ed), Her brothers; Larry (Brenda), Robert (Elizabeth), Jimmy, Glen (Dawn), Kevin (Martine), Scott, sister-in-law Judy Huggard, her former spouse David Steele, her grandchildren; Katie Lynn, Shyla, Devin, Daniel, Joey, Jynessa, Marcus, Madison, Brooklynn, Ry Guy and Grace, great-grandchildren; Maycee and Max, her niece Christine (Trevor), nephew Mark (Lise), as well as several cousins and extended family.

Barbara was a bartender and business manager all her working life. She made many friends along the way and was loved by everyone she served. She was always willing to help people and support her community by organizing fundraisers, silent auctions and 50/50 draws. She loved to be surrounded by friends and family. Her home in St Martins was always a gathering place to share a good story and a laugh.

The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Luan Le, Sue Brown, the staff of KV Extramural and the SJRH Oncology Department.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm on Saturday. Remembrances made to the St. Martins Fire Department would be appreciated.
