Robert "Bob" Vincent Steele

It is with heavy hearts the family of Bob Steele announces his sudden passing which occurred March 5, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Bob was born August 4, 1937; a son of the late Joseph and Mary (McHugh) Steele. Bob loved cars, boats and anything with a motor. In the early years he was a mechanic at Lawson Motors then moved onto NBTel before he retired.  He enjoyed his time at his trailer on the river where he could be found boating, swimming, having a BBQ or a bon fire on the beach. He was an avid crokinole player that loved to dance, attend Saturday Mass and loved to go for a drive with Lynn to church suppers.

He is survived by his son Michael Robert Steele (Karen), granddaughter Allie Bennett (Mike) and great granddaughter Brooke, long-time friend Lynn Godwin, his brothers; Joseph Steele ( Elva ), John Steele, several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife Donna (Duplisea), brothers David and Charles Steele and faithful canine companion Major.

Bob was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Bob will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Thursday, March 9th 2017 from 6-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 10th at 10:00 AM from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Following Mass, all are welcome to attend a time of fellowship and refreshment at the H.O.P.E Centre.  Private family interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
