To Fred's Family. I've just learned of Fred's passing and am saddened by this news. I knew Fred as a child when he would visit his grandparent's home on Vaughan Place in St. John's. He was a lovely, friendly boy and a gentle soul. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I just learned of Fred’s passing and my deepest condolences to Mack and family. Fred and I first met at Logibro in the 1990’s and we had many great times in Montreal. We both moved to other cities later, but kept in touch over the years and time seemed to melt away when we did correspond like we had just seen one another. It is with great sadness I hear this news and will miss Fred’s exceptional wit, humour and disposition on life. Fred could always make me laugh. I will remember Fred with the greatest fondness and respect.

I just learned today of this sad news.
Dear Mack, & family, a great big hug from me, Fred's friend from the days at Logibro circa late 90's. I moved from Toronto to Portugal in 2007, but we always stayed in touch at birthdays and new years.
So sad. :(

Hello Mack,
I'm doing-up chores before hip surgery tomorrow and realized (in my Summer daze) I didn't send you a note. So very sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved Fred..such a great all-round guy, and the joy of your life. I think I've taken his spot in the Men's Chorus these last two years, and have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Here's hoping your initial sadness and melancholy are soon replaced by warm and wonderful memories for you to enjoy forever...Please live through the tears, Mack, and share the laughter!

Dear Mack, Betty, Bud, Michelle, Louise, Leela, Ryann and ALL Fred's Family
I can't remember everyone's names please know you are included in my message of Heartfelt Sympathy to each and everyone of you. I attended one visitation and the Memorial Service and I have never attended such a heart warming, loving, outpouring of Love to All of You from friends and family. I hope it gave each one of you comfort to know that Fred was so dearly loved and how everyone wanted to support all of you in this very difficult time. Mack you did a beautiful job being Officiant, where did you ever get the strength but we know that came from the Man Up Above, and Michelle, Leela and Ryann you would make your Uncle Feducchini so very proud with your fond memories of him. I hope we can all including myself continue to support this loving, caring family in the days to come. I am so glad I got to spend so much time visiting Mack and Fred and some of Mack's family at Bobby's House. Just being able to come and go there with such freedom in such a peaceful, homey surrounding made
this just a little easier and all our cups of tea Mack meant so much to me for letting me be a part of your and Fred's life. I enjoyed Mack and Fred's visits usually for a meal and even Fred's patience and help with my computer issues through the years. Take care Dear Friends and please drop in anytime, I feel truly blessed to have got to know each one of you over the past couple of months. Big Hugs from Ellen Hutchinson

Although I haven't seen him for many years, I worked and "played" with Fred for numerous years when he worked at Check Inns - he was a sweet and gentle soul and you're absolutely right about his wit! We had many a laughs and fun times together in younger years. I pray that your wonderful memories with Fred will bring you comfort at this most difficult time. Such a wonderful write-up, and it's so hard to believe. Just as hard is finding the words, to express yourself. Deepest condolences, from both of us. Mom asked me to write, as she just couldn't find the words. Really, what can be said though. For Mack and Louise, and all of the family, we hope things can go as well as one can expect, from here. It's a new normal to get used to, and I hope all the positive and warm memories, will make all the hurt less obvious. Someone so positive himself, has left a lot of good times to think back on, I'm sure. For Mom, and from me, Brad.

To Mack, and to the rest of Fred's family: You have so much to be proud of. Those of you who shaped him and those of you who cared for him in these last difficult years. Having come a bit late to this page, I can't help but notice how many lives Fred touched. He truly was a very special person, and we are all so lucky to have known him. My friendship with him began when we both volunteered at Maison D'Herelle an AIDS hospice in Montreal ( 1994 ), where Fred treated the guests with such love and compassion.

Not meaning to be flippant, I can hardly believe nobody else has mentioned what a great cook Fred was. I still use recipes he gave me.

I am so pleased that Fred was able to introduce me to his love, Mack, when on a trip to BC. What a perfect match they are.

Thinking of all of you as I share, in some small way, in your sorrow.

As I sit staring at the screen wondering what I can write that will be of comfort to my brother Mack and Fred's family members left behind I type realizing that there is precious little I can say or do. I know the pain of losing Fred must be unimaginable for you all. I have spoken to lots of people about Fred over the years and always said how impressed I was with him. He was such a diversely talented man with an incredible grasp of the English language. I suspect he had a similar grasp on the French language as well but as I do not it is difficult to attest to. I spoke with my brother by phone years ago and told of a multi syllable word that I had seen that I suspected few people in the world would be able to pronounce let alone define. My brother who is no slouch with the English language did not know so spelled it to Fred who casually provided a pronunciation, definition, then used it in a sentence. I have described Fred as a man who can knit you a pair of socks then put down the knitting needles and help you weld your tailgate together. I have seen him knit and crab fished with him but I really don't know if he could weld. My wife Sherry and I are presently in Sheppardville NFLD as we near the end of our travels across Canada to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society through DavePedalsForHope.Com Fred has been on our minds throughout this trip and we wish that enough money raised will somehow make a difference for someone else. The pain and sorrow caused by this terrible disease is unacceptable. My daughters Natasha and Tara flew out to see my brother and Fred in April of this year. They are morning. My wife and I loved and respected Fred. We are morning. We love my brother and hope he will have the people around that can be there for him at this time. We wish that for the rest of Fred's family as well. Please accept our deepest and most sincere condolences. Dave and Sherry Mackenzie

Fred's intelligence was unmatched, as was his humility; again just one of the many life lessons he taught through example. Throughout the past few years his struggle was lessened through your support and care, and for that we are thankful. Fred will forever be in our hearts and minds, as are you as you move through this difficult process. All our love and support forever.

Mac, we used to talk to one another when I worked at Gentle Path and I always enjoyed our conversations, during all of those talks, I never knew you were married to the wonderful and amazing Fred Rowe! I worked with Fred at Xerox before working at GP and had the chance to work with Fred on a couple of projects and different events around the office. He always had a smile on his face and knew how to turn the most boring of tasks into something fun. I hope you find comfort in the days ahead from your friends, family and community. I am thinking of you.
