Lyn was always one of the warmest members of the music staff in District 8 in my early years in the SJ schools. I admired the work she did with her students, and she helped me get a good start teaching rhythm band instruments. I thought of her as a sort of mentor because she was so dedicated, and even later on she was more than happy to lend me anything I needed to help make my job easier. Last year I volunteered at the Music Festival, and there she was, doing what she could too. She will be missed!

Dear Marilyn and family
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Lyn's passing. She and I spent so many years walking back and forth to school each day. Even though it has been awhile since I last spoke to her I still considered her a special friend. She was so very talented and kind. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and may your memories comfort you.

A friend greets you with a genuine smile.
They listen while you ramble all the while.
A friend is understanding, fair and kind.
Strong threads of compassion and support bind.
The warmth of friendship passes tests of time,
Through the years shared moments, low to sublime.
True friends offer an encouraging word,
Lifting your spirit with sunshine when heard.
The high notes of having a loyal friend
Mean of a helping hand you'll have a lend.
In life's garden lovely flowers we view.
Lyn, for all you have meant, my thanks to you.
As Always, Margaret

I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to your family. Evelyn was my music teacher for years at St. Joseph's School in the 70s. She had faith in my singing abilities and she entered me into the NB Music Festival to sing Christopher Robin. She absolutely impacted my life and my love of music, and I would think of her often whenever I heard the line from the Sound of Music: My heart will be blessed with the sound of music. I wish I had an opportunity to tell her just how much of an impact she had on my heart. She was also the last person to sign my sister's condolences page when she passed away last November. I was more than touched that she did that, and I will forever be grateful for having had her in my life as a music teacher, and I'm sure anyone who knew her feels blessed for having known her too.

This wonderful woman was my music teacher in elementary school. I still remember her signature perfume and her joyful approach to life. She identified my surname as being of German ancestry (who knew it wasn't Irish like everyone else's?) and translated it for me. We sang out hearts out for her, with her beautiful smile and her clear love of children and music. Her passing leaves the world a little bit less bright. My condolences to her family and friends.

When I joined the teaching staff of the music department of School District 8, Lyn was one of the first people to make me feel welcome. She shared resources with me and introduced me to the Orff method of teaching music. We became closer friends when I was her supply teacher for her maternity leave when Matthew was born. We shared schools over the years and attended national Orff conventions in several places. Her enthusiasm was contagious. I am thankful my life path crossed with hers and I want to extend my sincere sympathy to her entire family. She will not be forgotten!

Going back quite a few years now, I would often cross paths with Evelyn at Seawood School where I taught violin and she taught classroom music. I remember the lovely atmosphere which was always present in her classroom and the kids would sit around her, totally involved in what was going on. On one occasion at a school concert, the entire school burst into song singing This Little Light of Mine, complete with actions, and I have never forgotten how special that moment was. Evelyn was a "magic" music teacher. Our condolences to her entire family.
