Gerald Arthur Thomas

It is with sadness that the family of Gerald “Jerry” Arthur Thomas announce his death which occurred on Sunday January 15, 2017 at Bobby’s Hospice. Jerry was born in Saint John on October 15, 1950, the son of the late Samuel John and Dorothea Thomas.

Jerry was a lifelong resident of Mispec, NB. He retired from Canada Border Services in 2000, prior to that he had worked at NB Museum. He was an avid reader and historian.

Jerry is survived by his brothers Robert (Dolores) of Saint John, Earl (Jean) of Port Albernie, BC, Basil (Susan) of Mispec and a half-brother Mike (Trish) of Spain; one sister Marnie (Daryll) Wilcox of Lynchburg, Virginia; sister-in-law Rose; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his sister Joyce (Jim) Montgomery; brothers John C. (Dorothy), Harold (Rita), Daniel (Shirley).

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). By the request of the family there will be no visitation.  A Graveside Service will take place on Wednesday January 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Mispec Cemetery. Donations in memory of Jerry may be made to the Mispec Cemetery. Thank you to Bobby’s Hospice for their compassionate care.
