It is with profound grief that our family announces the passing of Deborah Ann Doherty which occurred on January 14th, 2017 at Bobby's Hospice.
Deborah, daughter of George and Mary Cromwell, graduated from Saint Vincent's High School and from the Saint Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a nurse at Saint Joseph's Hospital and at Rocmaura Nursing Home.
Deborah served her church as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lay Reader at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and at Saint Mark's Catholic Church and as a team member in Marriage Encounter and Teen Encounter. She also stage managed the plays that were held at Saint Mark's as part of the Building Renovation Fundraising Campaign.
Deborah loved reading; gardening; cooking; travelling on "adventures" with her husband, Bob; and sitting on the back deck in the summer enjoying the surrounding woods. She also loved bridge and particularly the "Lovely Ladies of Bridge" of her Thursday morning group. Deborah was never in her life without the company of cats whom she dearly loved.
Deborah leaves behind Bob, her beloved husband of fifty years; her daughter, Erika (Jean Marc) Levesque; her son, Matthew (Krista "the daughter of my heart") Doherty; cherished grandchildren Hannah and Jacob Levesque and Marcus and Zachary Doherty and great-grandchild, Catrina Doherty; sisters Pam (Yves) Daigle and Marsha (Oswald) Cromwell-Brooks; many nieces, nephews and cousins; "the other daughter of my heart" Monique (Peter) King and her lifelong friend Carol Steeves.
Our family sincerely thanks the following for their care of Deborah during her illness: Dr. Sasha Seely, Dr. Chris O'Brien, Dr. Jessica Hemmings, the staff and volunteers of Bobby's Hospice, the nurses and therapists of KV Extra Mural, Father Don Breen, Father Gerry White, Monsignor Brian Sheehan and the many other priests and friends who visited her.
