Awful to hear this - never thought anything could snuff out Cathy's bright lite. Dave I'm so sorry for your loss. And you too Pat - when Brian died, I met you and your parents. Often still think of you and your mom & dad. Every time I've seen a Toyoto RAV 4 in Sherwood Park I think of Cathy and her saying "I'm getting me one of those". And she did and went east & pursued her dreams.

With my sincere. condolences I send this note to you, Dave and all of Cathys and your children, family. I met Cathy at Help for Taxes just a few short years ago. She was kind and funny. I liked how she was interested in more than a face and name and how she inquired of me about family and life.. Her love for her husband and family was evident in all her words, andicwturesbon her shelf. She was extremely knowledgable in her field of work. She was a great teacher, and was a great encouragement to all of us. May the Lord bless you and comfort you all during this sad time. Ginnie Cobbett

I would like to offer my heart felt condolences to Cathy's family on behalf of my family. Cathy was an outstanding woman and always helped others. Cathy worked above me at my current place of employment and I would see her everyday. I would take my children up to see her when they were in to visit me at work. Cathy was always down to visit my co-workers and myself on a daily basis. I can still see her car driving in the driveway with the "TRTS" license plates. She was a very devoted woman and will be missed by everyone. I will see you in heaven Cathy.

With heartfelt sympathy to Cathy's family due to her sudden passing. Met Cathy through Weight Watchers over the last few years and was always happy to see her smiling face on Tues morning. Aways a welcoming smile, positive reinforcement and words of encouragement. Always willing to help and make suggestions for a successful week to follow. I will never forget how excited she was about her recent trip. A real get-a- way vacation. When she went into hospital I never dreamed she wouldn"t be back.

It was a very fortunate day for me when Cathy wandered into my office at Help4Taxes, looking for the opportunity to do a work-placement term, as she finished up at the local college. She brought tenacity to doing the best possible job for our clients and she was a great organizer.
Some people have a hard time with rules, me being a prime example, but Cathy was so keen that it ultimately became her forte with us, as I assigned her the important task of documenting our policies and procedures in the beginning. Never one to shy away from a challenge, she stepped up and became our first Westside manager, and before the door was ever opened, I admired her willingness to help me assemble the desks that she would eventually manage. And all during that time she had an unending faith that the cancer she fought in her first years with me, was beaten, and she did not let it impact her efforts for her clients and our small, growing family business.
Many folks expressed supreme confidence in Cathy’s abilities if they happened to have the good fortune to find themselves in her office, and were more than willing to share this with me. At a time like this, people feel obligated to speak with kindness, but in Cathy’s case, this is not a hard thing for me to do.
I know as the business developed and Leslie stepped into her role as General Manager, Cathy was always willing to pitch in and help our associates, while never being shy to share with us her thoughts if she felt that Leslie and I could improve in some area of the business. I know both of us today feel a great sense of loss.
Cathy had a wonderful laugh that resonates with me now as I think of it, and it will be missed. I can’t help but feel terrible sadness for Dave’s loss, particularly under the conditions in which he finds himself, again.
Leslie and I send our prayers to Cathy’s family, and we take some small comfort in knowing that Dave has the resolve to see this through.

Although it was not along time that we knew Cathy, but in that time that we did have the privilege of hanging out with you guys, I knew the first time I met her she was such a wonderful person with a great spirit and attitude!!!
