Yolanda T. Olsen

The death of Yolanda T. Olsen, widow of Carl W. Olsen occurred on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, daughter of the late Frederick M. and Margaret E. (Belliveau) Quinn. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and most recently, St. Pius X Church. Yolanda was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary, member of FSNA and Beaconsfield Rubies Seniors.

She is survived by two sons Carl (Helene), of Saint John, Anthony (Tony) of Fort McMurray, three daughters, Gertrude (Sue) Olsen-Doyle, Pamela Hunter and Patricia (Richard) Gauthier all of Saint John. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, one brother, Francis L. Quinn.

Yolanda was predeceased by brothers, Frederick M.J. and Harold P.J. Quinn, sisters Patricia Gallagher and M. Geraldine Cole, daughter, Ruth Olsen-Mahoney and granddaughter Michelle Olsen.

Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Tuesday, January 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Monsignor Brian Henneberry presiding on Wednesday at 9:00 AM.  Reception to be held at St. Pius X Church Hall immediately following the Mass with interment being held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
