Catherine G. (Callum) Burbridge

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cathie (Callum) Burbridge, beloved wife of Reginald Burbridge, announce her sudden passing, which occurred on Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 at the Moncton Hospital. Cathie was born in Gander, NL on April 10th, 1962 and is the daughter of William and the late Bernice (Elms) Callum. 

In addition to her father Bill (step-mom Donna) and husband Reginald, Cathie is survived by her son Mark, daughter Mallory Maillet (Ryan), and brothers Bill Callum (Nadine) and Ian Callum (Jennifer).

Reg, her loving husband of 30 years, and her children Mallory and Mark were the centre of her world.  She was an amazing mother who instilled morals and values in her kids from an early age and pushed them to be responsible, respectful, caring young adults.  She was very proud of her children and loved them very much.

Cathie was a dedicated, loyal and extremely hard-working employee.  She worked for Exxon Mobil in the Business Support Centre in the U.S. Wholesale & Specialities business as the Retail Contract Administration Supervisor for nearly 11 years. She and Reg had recently moved from Saint John to Riverview so Cathie could further her career with Exxon.  She absolutely adored her team in Moncton and affectionately referred to them as the “A” Team. 

Cathie always had a special way of sensing the needs of friends and family.  You never had to ask for help, she just knew what to do and how to deliver it.  Cathie thoroughly enjoyed puttering in her beautiful flower gardens, listening to music, dancing, and having fun.  Cathie’s “Partners in Crime” Glenda and Darlene, have many wonderful memories of times at the trailer in TNT campground.  She was the “Queen of Cards” and always enjoyed a good game of cards.  Cathie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 5th at 10:00 am with interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A reception will follow at the funeral home.  For those who wish, remembrances to the IWK Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.
