It is with extreme sorrow that the family of Maureen Anne Dignard (loving wife of Robert Clark) shares with you that she journeyed to heaven in the mid-morning of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Maureen was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, on December 20, 1961, and was the daughter of Ruth Dignard and the late Richard Dignard.
Maureen lived in Grand Bay-Westfield and worked for many years as an LPN, caring for the elderly at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home. As a person who loved to care for others, she soon opened her own daycares, Little Angels and Angels “R” Wee, in 1997. She was always an advocate for children’s rights, through the early childhood sector and ECCENB, working to better the world for children.
Maureen was a dedicated wife, mother, nanny, sister, and friend. Her family meant everything to her, and she was often seen playing tag and talking with her own children and the children at her daycares. She was always there to lend an ear or an encouraging word to anyone who needed one.
Maureen was a true adventurer at heart. She spent much of her time traveling the world in search of the best beaches. She was at her happiest when spending time at her trailer in Ganong Beach, in Cap-Pelé, where the ocean and sunsets became the backdrop for countless cherished memories.
No matter someone’s walk of life, Maureen welcomed them as family. Known for her warmth, humor, and fierce spirit, she was the life of every gathering; she even created her own party, “The Stomp.” Her jokes, infectious laughter, and boundless generosity defined her presence wherever she went.
In addition to her loving partner of 40 years, she is survived by her four children, Angel Dignard (Barrett), Zachary Dignard (Michaela), Autumn Dignard (Tyler), and Zander Dignard (Shannah); her sister Darlene Dignard (Anne); and her beautiful grandchildren Aowyn, Talia, Noah, and Jack, with many more to come.
Her spirit of joy, advocacy, and unconditional love will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her.
