Donald L. Nice Sr.

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Donald Leroy Nice Sr., which occurred on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on January 15th, 1934, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Gordon and Etta (Kershaw) Nice.  Don worked in Shiplining throughout his career with various companies in Canada and the US.  He was a great father and grandfather and a devoted Christian who loved Jesus.  Don enjoyed hunting, atving and spending time outdoors.  He had a kind heart for helping anyone in need and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Don is survived by his sons David Nice (Shalene) of Morna Heights, Donald Nice Jr. (Debbie) of Garnett Settlement, Scottie Dale Nice (Michelle) of Kelowna, BC, Robbie Nice (Janice) of Kelowna, BC; daughters Charlene Belyea (Paul) of Hampton, Colleen Williams (Richard) of Victoria, BC, Sharon Nice of Victoria, BC; brothers Glennie Nice (Joanne) of Quispamsis, Bobbie Nice (Guilda) of Western Canada; sisters Margaret Doyle (Ralph) of Saint John, Betty Templeton of Brandon, MB, Marilyn Robichaud of St. Martins, Linda Maillett (Cleo) of Rothesay; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with his parents, Don was predeceased by his wife Roberta, brother Gordie, sisters Judy and Marilyn and daughter-in-law Darlene.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  As per Don’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  A private graveside service will take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date.  Donations in Don’s memory may be made to Romero House, Outflow or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
