Shelley S. Saunders

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Shelley Shyanne Saunders which occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 21st, 2016.  Born 1974, in Fredericton, she is the daughter of Rita (Frenette) Saunders and Glen Saunders (Connie).  Shelley graduated from St. Vincent’s High School. She attended UNBSJ and Eastern College.  She was a Personal Support Worker and Human Service Councillor.  She enjoyed going for drives and taking day trips with Eddie, Nick and friends.  She loved the get-togethers with “her girls”.  She loved sunflowers, music and movies.  Shelley would do anything for anybody.  She was a real people person, very out-going and always smiling.

Along with her parents, Shelley will be greatly missed by her brother Adam Saunders (Michelle) of Saint John; nephew Alex Saunders of Saint John; niece Tristen Saunders of Saint John; fiancé Eddie Hughes of Saint John; step-son Nick Hughes of Lepreau; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Shelley was predeceased by her grandparents Vernon and Mildred Saunders and Ernest and Mary Frenette.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Visitation will be held for family and friends at Ocean View Memorial Gardens Chapel on Friday, June 24th from 11 till 12 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at 12 noon.  Donations in Shelley’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
