Welcome to the memorial page for

Peter Allan Hebert

July 2, 1952 ~ October 21, 2016 (age 64) 64 Years Old

The unexpected passing of Peter A. Hebert occurred at his residence on Friday, October 21st 2016. Born July 2nd 1952 in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late Christine (Williams) and John Hebert.

Peter was a very quiet and caring man. A lifelong West Sider, he began work at Morrell’s Service Station on Main Street West.  He was given the nickname “Parking Meter Pete” for being spotted regularly during the morning hours during the winter, spring, summer and fall. He was there through the rain, sleet, snow, hail or beaming sunshine. Many said that if Peter wasn’t seen on their drive in the morning, their trek through Main Street wouldn’t be complete. After being given the nickname, Peter was easily known as the caretaker of the west side.

Peter devoted his time to and was a proud member of the Lancaster Branch Legion #69

Peter is survived by his loving brothers and sisters; John (Karen), Raymond (Terra), Mary (Normand) Dionne and Annette Hebert all of Saint John. He is also survived by his four nieces and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, Peter was also predeceased by his brother George.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation hours will be held on Monday, October 24th 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 25th from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
