Melissa Lynn "Missy" McGarity

 It is with heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of their beloved Missy McGarity,  which occurred on Monday June 29th, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family at her side. Missy was born in Saint John, February of 1988; she was the daughter of the late Linda (Joyce) McGarity and Arthur McGarity of Saint John. Missy was a special gift to this world. Everyone who knew her knows just how special she was to her family and friends.  Missy was a great fan of everything Elvis. She was devoted to her companions Ernie and Barney; they were her world. She especially enjoyed going to dinner with her Nanny on Sundays. Besides her loving and devoted father Arthur, Missy is survived by her brothers Richard (Marilyn), Craig (Tina) and Steve (Amanda) all of Saint John; grandmother  Nanny Alice (Parsons) McGarity of Cambridge Narrows; Aunt Bonny Cormier; 2nd mother Debbie Doucette; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, one great nephew and friends. Besides her loving and devoted mother Linda; Missy was predeceased by her grandparents Wilmont McGarity and  Murray and Rita (Doyle) Joyce.

Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday July 1, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday July 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday July 3rd at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Missy’s memory can be made to the IWK or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
