Marilyn Ann (Thorne) Powell

Marilyn Ann Powell, loving wife of William “Bill” Burton Powell, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on November 9, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Charles Alexander and Marion Alice (Pugsley) Thorne.

In addition to her husband, Bill, of 44 years, she is survived by her son, William Andrew Powell (Aisha), of Toronto; cherished granddaughter, Evangeline; aunt, Gwendolyn Monahan, of Hampton, and several cousins.

She was a passionate environmentalist, and frequently spoke out on issues affecting her home and the village of Cambridge-Narrows. She loved and cared for her family and friends deeply, and threw wonderful parties.

Following cremation, she will be laid to rest in Cambridge-Narrows. The family invites you to a Memorial Service at the Fundamental Baptist Church, 1170 Sand Cove Road, Saint John on Thursday, July 21 at 2:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Marilyn may be made to the Conservation Council of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
